End of Veganuary 2017

Well, here we are at the end of Veganuary 2017 and it seems to have been a major success and was even featured on the BBC’s flagship Newsnight programme last evening.

Every person who turns to a Vegan or Vegetarian lifestyle is actively helping animals as well as advocating for Animal rights and Animal welfare and CCA are delighted that the numbers of people turning to Veganism or Vegetarianism  are increasing significantly around the world year on year.

Long many it continue and for those still thinking of making the change I enclose a link to the Veganuary website

Good News from the US

I am grateful to colleagues at Animal Defenders International(ADI) for an update on the latest position in regard to the situation regarding Circuses with Animals in the USA.

ADI report that the largest Animal Circus in the US which is Ringling Bros, Barnum & Bailey Circus is to close later this year. This is excellent news and ADI and others are now trying to ensure that Ringlings relocate  the animals from the Circus to good, respectable and well operated  animal sanctuaries.

This is all positive news but CCA will not be satisfied until every last Animal Circus anywhere in the world ceases to operate and this horrendous activity is finally consigned to the history books.

CCA has for many years advocated and promoted a Vegetarian and/or Vegan diet.

We are delighted with the Veganuary campaign this month and have been actively promoting it and re-tweeting their material and sharing their Facebook output.

New Year is always a good time for changing one’s habits, lifestyle, etc and nothing os more fundamental that what we eat and our health-a change to a vegan lifestyle is a great way to start 2017.

I am very pleased to see an article by Charlie Camosy, Associate Professor in the Department of Theology at Fordham University, USA j which has just published in the Washington Post entitled “Why all Christians should go Vegan” and I thoroughly recommend it to all CCA Members and supporters and the article link can be accessed via the CCA Facebook page.

Happy Veganuary to everyone

Happy New Year

I wish a Happy and animal friendly New Year to all CCA Members and supporters.

There are many challenges ahead as always but CCA will be focused on the defence of Animal Welfare and the promotion of Animal Rights in the full spirit of Pope Francis’s extraordinary Encyclical letter, Laudato Si’.
